In recent years, sustainable development has become a global issue. As the global climate crisis deepens and environmental awareness increases, low-carbon sustainable tourism is gradually gaining attention from travelers worldwide. In every travel experience, we have begun to emphasize the impact we make on the environment, hoping to make conscious choices regarding transportation, accommodation, food, and entertainment.
Low-Carbon Cuisine & Sustainable Tainan Flavors
In the sentimental city of Tainan, food is always the top priority. With the hospitality of welcoming friends, we take the uniqueness of Tainan’s local snacks and incorporate seasonal, local ingredients. By adopting principles of the circular economy, reducing food waste, and maintaining a low-carbon footprint, we not only bring out the natural sweetness and multi-layered textures of the food but also ensure health and environmental protection. This allows you to easily do your part for the Earth while enjoying delicious meals.
Plastic Reduction Initiatives
In response to the international trend of reducing plastic and in accordance with government policies, we promote low-carbon and environmental awareness so that you can protect the Earth while traveling.
To reduce the use of single-use plastic water bottles, the hotel does not provide bottled water in plastics.
Water dispensers are installed on each floor. Guests are welcome to use the eco-friendly water bottles provided in the rooms or bring their own containers.
We further encourage guests to bring their own reusable cups to work together in reducing single-use plastic containers.

We have applied for certifications and labels related to sustainable tourism to provide guests with low-carbon travel options. Responding to "Earth Hour"
The hotel consistently upholds the concept of environmental sustainability and is dedicated to contributing to our precious Earth by participating in "Earth Hour," the world's largest grassroots movement for the environment. During the event, we sincerely invite our guests to join us by turning off non-essential lights in their rooms for one quiet hour. Let us work together through this small yet powerful change to protect our beautiful oceans and the future of the Earth.
Bronze-Level Eco-Friendly Hotel - "Green Mark Certificate"
Formosa Yacht Resort embraces green tourism as its operational philosophy and is the first hotel in Tainan to be awarded the Diamond Level Green Building status. We have created a mini ecological island with added trees and pebble landscapes to simulate natural habitats. In 2024, we received the "Green Mark Certificate" for Bronze-Level Eco-Friendly Hotels from the Ministry of Environment. We no longer provide single-use amenities in guest rooms, continuously promoting plastic and carbon reduction while minimizing environmental pollution. We use L'OCCITANE bath products with eco-friendly and traceable ingredients, hoping to offer guests a high-quality, pleasant experience while protecting the Earth's environment and preserving Tainan's beauty.

"Diamond Level Green Building" Label
With the guidance of green building consultants, Formosa Yacht Resort has achieved the Diamond Level certification, the highest grade among Green Building Labels. To achieve this, we enhanced the thermal insulation of the building's roof and glass, which not only saves on air conditioning costs but also achieves daily energy conservation. Additionally, by installing rainwater infiltration pipes and a basement water tank, we prevent flooding during heavy rains while collecting water for eco-friendly reuse, such as maintaining flower beds and watering plants, resulting in water-saving benefits.

"Bicycle-Friendly Accommodation" Certification
In response to the new trend of cycling tourism, we have created a friendly environment for cyclists. For those who love to travel by bicycle, we provide a safe bicycle parking space. We welcome you to ride your bike to Tainan! To accommodate early morning cycling activities, we offer portable breakfast boxes so you can replenish your energy while enjoying your cycling journey. We also provide bicycle rental services, inviting everyone to choose an eco-friendly and healthy mode of transportation to explore the beauty of Tainan.

In addition to not providing single-use tableware, we strictly implement garbage and food waste sorting to reduce waste from the source and remain eco-friendly. To achieve the goal of sustainable ingredients, our restaurant's dishes use domestic ingredients. This not only supports local farmers but also shortens food mileage, implementing the farm-to-table concept, reducing energy consumption during food transportation, and achieving low-carbon benefits.

"Eco-Friendly Hotel" Label
To further meet sustainable tourism standards, we do not proactively provide single-use amenities in guest rooms. Single-use bath products have been completely replaced with wall-mounted dispensers to reduce plastic bottles through eco-friendly refills. We have also installed RO water dispensers on every guest room floor, replacing bottled water to reduce plastic waste. To encourage travelers to join the ranks of sustainable tourism, we launched the "Green Living Eco-Friendly Housing Project." Guests using this plan must bring their own toiletries and agree not to change bed linens during consecutive stays. We hope to promote low-carbon tourism at discounted prices and collectively protect the Earth's ecology.
